Ruskin apologises for not writing the text himself ('I am tired today and can't write myself')

'I ... am anxious to assure you, that I doubt not ... that you have entirely understood all that I would suggest in Fors Clavigera, except only that the good I hope for is not to be effected by "my personal rule" but by the due mastership of every kind and honest man - over his inferiors - in his own proper place and business. What you add about emigration is entirely true, but my own concern must be with my own neighbourhood and country ...'

Ruskin adds that his views on emigration are stated at the end of a Lecture on the future of England which he is sending.
