STOKER, Bram (1847-1912). Irish journalist and writer. Autograph Letter Signed to Dr Robert Clarke, 2 pages 8vo (on conjunct leaves), Lyceum Theatre (blind stamp), 23 March 1887. A letter written on behalf of Sir Henry Irving, during the period when Stoker was manager of the Lyceum and acted as Irving's secretary (1878-1898). 'Mr Irving desires me to convey to you his hearty thanks for your great kindness to the poor fellow of whom you have written. He has laid the matter before the Committee of the Actors Benevolent Fund with whom rests all the granting of money & he is sure that your kind advocacy will not be without avail.'
