Autograph Letter Signed ('Sarah Spencer') to Lady Banks (Dorothea Hugessen, 1758-1828), 3 pages 4to with address on the reverse, Spencer House, 24 March 1808. Thanking her for her intervention with the musician Charles Burney (1726-1814), and enquiring after Sir Joseph Banks's health.

'I cannot express how much obliged I am to your Ladyship for your kindness about my musical concers, & how sensible I feel of Doctor Burney's very obliging behaviour too, I must entreat you to tell him how grateful I am to him for it. I never saw any of Rhigini's canzonets, & shd be quite delighted if I could be allowed to try them; it is so great an encouragement to me to be assisted by such a man as Doctor Burney in my search after good musick, that I think it must improve me in performing it ...
 'Your Ladyship judged very rightly in supposing it would give us pleasure to hear of Sir Joseph's convalescence: we are all delighted at the intelligence & longing for the final recovery of his understanding. ...'
