Three Autograph Letters Signed to Suzanne Fay, in all 6 pages 8vo (oblong) with one envelope, Burcote Brook, Abingdon, all undated (postmark 4 May 1955 on the one envelope). Praising her songs ('they would make a dumb donkey sing like a pack of hounds, & a cow like a nightingale'), and heaping blessings, happiness and joy upon her.

'... "Hail to thee, blithe spirit"
& a most happy Easter to you. I send a tiny bay leaf for Easter, & also a book & a proof, for Birthdays that would have been marked if I had had the luck in those days. ..'

The bay leaf, in an envelope, is included; the book and proof are not.

'... We are two old friends who love you dearly: you mustn't be vexed at our writing that: & think often of your happiness. ...'

In his later years, Masefield kept up a correspondence with several much younger women, and delighted in hearing their news and following their lives.
