MENUHIN, Yehudi (1916-1999). Violinist. Signature and inscription ('With my best wishes') on the upper cover of a programme for a Promenade Concert on 27 August 1946. The programme was an all Elgar affair: Cockaigne, the Violin Concerto, the Serenade for Strings and Falstaff, the conductor being Sir Adrian Bloult. Included is a photograph of Menuhin, 160 x 198 mm. (c. 6 x 7½ inches), signed and dated 1946 on a dark part of the image, showing the violinist at half-length tuning his instrument (captioned on the reverse 'playing with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in a broadcast concert').
