SEELEY, Harry Govier (1839-1909). Geologist & palaeontologist.
Autograph Letter Signed to an unnamed correspondent, 3 pages 8vo, 31 Soho Square, 12 August 1874. Written as Professor of Geology at Bedford College, London, Seeley attempts to enlist his correspondent's assistance in developing a new institution for the education of 'the producing classes'.
Seeley's contributions to continuing education included lecturing for the London Society of the Extension of University Teaching from 1880-1890.
'... If you can assist me in this matter ... I shall be helped in my endeavours to help those whose prosperity is so vital to all progressive interests.'
