ISLE OF MAN Eighteenth Century copy of a famous letter from the Earl of Derby to General Ireton, 4 pages folio, the original dated 12 July 1649. An explanation accompanies the copy, which transcribes Derby's reply to Ireton when asked to surrender the Isle of Man.
